oniris plus snoring device sleep apnoea

What causes snoring and sleep apnoea?

Snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) commonly occur when the muscles of the throat relax during sleep, allowing the airway to narrow or collapse. This can restrict airflow, leading to vibration of soft tissues (snoring) or repeated pauses in breathing (sleep apnoea).

Key contributing factors include:

  • Backward movement of the lower jaw during sleep
  • Tongue displacement into the airway
  • Reduced muscle tone during sleep
  • Anatomical factors such as retrognathia

Mandibular advancement devices are designed to address these mechanical contributors by gently repositioning the lower jaw forward.

How ONIRIS® PLUS works

ONIRIS® PLUS gently moves the lower jaw slightly forward during sleep. This helps keep the airway more open, allowing air to flow more easily and reducing the chances of snoring or breathing disruption.

What this means for you:

  • Keeps the jaw in a forward position to help keep the airway open
  • Allows you to open your mouth naturally if needed
  • Designed to reduce pressure on the jaw joints
  • Moves with your mouth for better comfort through the night

By combining airway support with comfort, ONIRIS® PLUS is designed to be worn consistently throughout the night, which is key for managing snoring and sleep-disordered breathing.
